Who Am I?
My name is Taylor Franson-Thiel, and I love taking photos.
My first paid shoot was in 2018, but I’ve been obsessed with photography since I was 12 years old. I’ve always loved capturing beautiful moments and making people feel beautiful and comfortable.
My whole goal as a photographer is to help all kinds of people feel relaxed and authentic in front of the camera. I know taking pictures can be awkward for some people, and I want to be there to help make the process easier. Each session is uniquely tailored (haha no pun intended) to each person; I can pose you, or let you do your thing, we can try for some uniquely styled shots, or we can get all the classics, I have mini or full session available based on your needs.
I also pride myself on returning a lot of photos, and a lot of photos quickly. My favorite shot might not be your favorite shot, so I want to make sure you have options. My turn around time for photos is usually within two weeks. You won’t be waiting long to see your beautiful and bright photos.
More about me specifically:
I’m originally from Utah, but relocated to Virginia in 2023 for graduate school. I’m currently an MFA candidate in Poetry at George Mason University. I married my partner in 2022 and we are loving our time in the NOVA area.
From 2017-2022 I was a Division One basketball player at Utah State University. Not that being a baller has anything to do with taking good pictures, but I’m very proud of my time as an athlete. Go Aggies!
I have a bachelors in print journalism, a masters in poetry (both from USU) and in three years I’ll have an MFA in poetry as well.
I love reading, powerlifting, traveling, and of course photography. When I’m not working on school work or research I’m doing one of those other three things.
